A little late but I decided to wait until I’d delivered the last of the images from my December weddings before posting this. In 2017 the business really matured and I felt fully comfortable and proud to call myself a wedding photographer. Thank you to my 23 wonderful couples who chose me to document one of the most important days of their lives – I loved every minute. For me this sweet spot, somewhere between 20 and 25, allows me to dedicate the time and energy that each wedding deserves and I’ll be continuing in that same spirit this year.

Another key theme which is set to continue in 2018 is one of professional development and broadening my network. This year I’ve learnt an incredible amount and been inspired by many, including some of my wedding photography heroes, at Wolves Workshop and SNAP Photography Festival. There are many times I catch myself and think “unbelievable, this is my job?!” and no more so than on a beach in the Canary Islands or staring up at the stars in the Welsh countryside surrounded by wonderful likeminded people also eager to improve. If I make half as many new friends in 2018 as I did this year it’s going to be a lot of fun.

However, the real icing on the 2018 cake is that my brother will be joining the business as we look to fulfil a long held dream and take over the world one photo at a time.

Oliver
